adaptation
1. Behavioral- a change in behavior that allows animals to survive.
2. Structural- a change that allows a creature to survive that is a part of its body.
 
ecosystem
a system or environment of organic living and inorganic things and their relationship to each other.
 
biome
major regional community characterized by climate and life forms
 
*within a biome there are many ecosystems
 
habitat
a place in which a creature lives.
 
niche
a roll or a position in an ecosystem.
 
predator
an animal that hunts for its food or prey.
 
herbivore
an animal that eats plants
 
carnivore
an animal that eats meat
 
omnivore
an animal that eats both plants and meat
 
producer
an animal that creates its own food such as plants.
 
consumer
one who hunts or gathers food.
